AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 Overtakes Lunar Lake

AMD has made an ambitious debut in artificial intelligence performance with its new generation processor Ryzen AI Max+ 395. According to the data shared by the company, this processor with Zen 5 architecture and RDNA 3.5 graphics unit is 12.2 times faster in certain artificial intelligence operations compared to Intel’s Lunar Lake platform. AMD’s ambitious statements show that Ryzen AI Max+ 395 leaves its competitors behind, especially in artificial intelligence-based tasks.

In AMD’s benchmark tests, Ryzen AI Max+ 395 was compared with Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V processor. The tests included major language models such as DeepSeek R1 and Llama. Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which especially draws attention in “first token time” measurements, gave 12.2 times faster results in some models. In addition, it was stated that it was up to 2.2 times faster in general performance.

The success of the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is driven by 40 RDNA 3.5 processing units, eight additional CPU cores, and a high TDP of up to 120W. In contrast, Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V processor has a maximum turbo power of only 37W. However, both chips are in the thin and light laptop category.

AMD emphasizes that the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 makes a difference not only in AI performance but also in graphics processing capabilities. The chip’s integrated RDNA 3.5 graphics unit is powerful enough to compete with external graphics cards. AMD even compared this model to Nvidia’s RTX 4090 laptop graphics unit, claiming superiority.

The results obtained by AMD with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor seem to further intensify competition in the AI-focused processor market. Especially in today’s world where AI-based applications and tasks are increasingly common, such performances are becoming an important criterion for users.
