Set in 16th century Japan, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will see players step into the shoes of dual protagonists Naoe Fujibayashi, a female shinobi, and Yasuke, a samurai, as they continue to fight against the Templar Order. Although the title was initially aiming for a September 2024 release, this was later pushed to February 14, 2025, with the Assassin’s Creed Shadows team announcing another delay in January.

According to its listing on the Mac App Store, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will boast a file size of 123GB on macOS. While the size of the game will likely fluctuate between macOS, Windows, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, this is a good indicator that the title will be a hefty one regardless of platform.

As Ubisoft continues to put the finishing touches on the newest entry to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, the company has continued to share details about the title, recently detailing the accessibility features coming to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Players can expect multiple colorblind modes, screen narration, isolated audio sliders, full HUD customization, and over 20 additional options. The game’s difficulty will be uniquely customizable as well, with both combat and stealth featuring four difficulty settings. Players can also choose to perform multiple attacks with a single input rather than utilizing multiple buttons.

Ahead of the title’s launch, Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ first DLC has already been teased by Ubisoft. Titled Claws of Awaji, the expansion will provide over 10 hours of fresh content, including a new weapon type and region. Those who pre-order any version of the game will snag Claws of Awaji for free.
