Battlefield 6 Community Demands Classic Features Back

Battlefield 6 has had a strong start, breaking sales records, but nostalgia is lingering among players. While the game, which sold 7 million copies in its first week, is technically impressive, the community feels the absence of some classic features. Dynamic weather, “levolution” moments, and large-scale maps are among the features fans most want to see return.

Battlefield 6 Players Miss the Old Battlefields and Features

For years, the Battlefield series has been known for its expansive maps, vehicle combat, and environmental destruction mechanics. However, Battlefield 6 seems to have strayed from that identity for some players. The community is particularly concerned about the smaller map sizes and the fact that the battlefields don’t feel as epic as they once did. Reddit users frequently call on the development team to “bring back the spirit of the series.”

Community member Rainy55 shared a post about their desire to see some small but memorable details from past games. Players are requesting the return of the bollard system from Battlefield 4. This feature required drivers to divert their vehicles or abandon their vehicles to avoid obstacles—adding a strategic layer to the battlefield. They also suggested reusable elevators and a more realistic ascent mechanic instead of rope-based ziplines.

Larger requests include dynamic weather and changing times of day. Players want elements like rainstorms, sandstorms, or foggy mornings to create variations in each match. In previous games in the series, these weather events were scripted. The community is hoping Battlefield 6 will adopt a more liberal system in this regard. They are also suggesting the addition of hidden paths like underground passages and subway tunnels to the maps.

Another nostalgic request is the return of the series’ iconic “levolution” system. Dynamic scenes of destruction, like the skyscraper collapsing on Battlefield 4’s iconic Siege of Shanghai map or the map flooding in the Flood Zone, are still memorable moments for players. While Battlefield 6 features similar elements, the community still misses the massive destruction experiences of past games.

The development team is closely monitoring player feedback. Studio representatives have hinted that some classic mechanics may return in future seasons. While there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, the Battlefield community remains hopeful.
