Civilization 7 Comes With Surprise Leaders
Firaxis Games’ highly anticipated new game, Civilization 7, is coming with a roster that includes both popular and historically underrepresented leaders. The game developers say that leader selection is one of the most exciting parts of the game development process. Firaxis stated that they conducted in-depth research to increase historical diversity and ensure global representation. With its new leader roster, Civilization 7 looks set to be one of the most comprehensive pieces of content in the series.
What’s New in Civilization 7’s Leader Roster
In the leader selection process for Civilization 7, Firaxis took into account both player feedback and suggestions from history experts. Firaxis’ executive producer Dennis Shirk stated that the selection of leaders and civilizations turned into a major discovery process during the game development process. Shirk said, “We did a very detailed study to add both popular leaders and historically underrepresented figures to the game.”
While determining the game’s leadership team, support was also received from 2K’s local teams. In order to ensure global representation, it was aimed to include strong and interesting figures from each region in the game. With this approach, Firaxis aims to offer players both historical depth and new discoveries.
Civilization 7 will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms on February 11, 2025. The standard version of the game will be sold for £60 (approximately 2600 TL), while the Deluxe Edition version will be sold for £90 (approximately 3900 TL). The Deluxe Edition includes early access and additional content.
With its new leadership team and game mechanics, Civilization 7 promises to offer a great innovation for fans of the series.
