Clovers May Make Other Games Besides Okami Sequel

Clovers Studio, which has started working on the sequel to Okami, has made important statements about its future projects. The studio’s president Hideki Kamiya and his former colleague at PlatinumGames, Kento Koyama, stated in an interview with Japan-based GameSpark that they will not be limited to Okami alone. The duo stated that the studio is open to working on a new IP, a sequel to another IP, or a spiritual successor.

Doors Open to Games Other Than Okami

Kento Koyama said that Clovers Studio does not limit any method in game production and that their main focus is “making interesting games.” Kamiya said, “If we are asked to work on an existing IP and it seems interesting to adapt it in our own way, we will do it.” He also added that they are open to working on a completely original project.

Kamiya confirmed that they are currently working on a single project and that it is related to an IP they have been involved in in the past. However, he stated that the studio is not limited to this project and that they may attract attention with different types of games in the future.

The Okami sequel has created great expectations for Clovers Studio. However, the studio aims to make different contributions to the gaming world by not being limited to this project. Koyama and Kamiya stated that the studio wants to work on projects that create a “wow” feeling, and emphasized that they will adopt a creative approach without being tied to any IP.

It is not yet clear which projects Clovers Studio will focus on after the Okami sequel. However, it is clearly seen that the studio acts with a broad vision and is open to projects that can make more noise in the gaming world.
