Critical Borderlands 4 Patch Released for PC

While the long-anticipated Borderlands 4 garnered significant attention upon its release, technical issues, particularly on PC, soured players’ enjoyment. Gearbox is now releasing a critical update that addresses these issues and aims to streamline the game’s experience.

Changes Introduced by the Borderlands 4 Patch

According to Gearbox’s official statement, the new update primarily aims to improve the game’s stability on PC. Animations, audio, and collision controls that were causing crashes have been fixed, while graphics card-related errors have also been addressed. These improvements are expected to provide a smoother overall experience.

Not only have technical issues been addressed, but also bugs that hindered quest progress. In particular, the “Talk to Zadra” quest, which caused players to close and reopen the game, has been resolved. Additionally, reward center errors that occurred after claiming Gilded Glory Pack rewards have been resolved.

The update also addresses some equipment and loot issues. False alerts encountered by players who didn’t own the DLC have been fixed, and Gilded Glory Pack weapons have been prevented from spawning in standard crates. This is said to improve the loot system’s balance.

Gearbox also announced that it won’t be limited to just this patch. Going forward, the company will release smaller weekly updates, regularly updating Wildcard missions, weekly major boss battles, and Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine. This will encourage players to return to the game each week with new content and rewards.
