Crossplay Details for Battlefield 6 Released
An official statement has been released regarding crossplay, one of the most debated topics for the long-awaited Battlefield 6. While the possibility of console-exclusive matchmaking has been raised, EA has reshaped expectations by providing clear information on the matter.
How Will Battlefield 6 Crossplay Work?
According to the latest announcement for Battlefield 6, there will be no console-exclusive crossplay option. EA confirmed that, when crossplay is enabled, console players will be matched first. However, if the lobby isn’t full, PC players will fill the remaining slots. This will ensure cross-platform balance.
If crossplay is disabled, console players will only be able to match with players on their own platforms. This completely eliminates the possibility of PlayStation and Xbox users playing together. In other words, in a closed crossplay mode, PlayStation players will remain solely within their own ecosystem, while Xbox users will remain solely within their own platform.
Previous statements suggested that a console-exclusive crossplay mode might be possible. However, EA has now put an end to this expectation and clarified how the system works. Still, many players hope the developers will work on a console-specific solution in the future.
Battlefield 6 has already generated excitement with its new maps, vehicles, and weapon roster. However, this crossplay system may be disappointing for some players. However, EA’s decision aims to make the gaming experience more balanced and seamless.
