Elden Ring Nightreign Duos Mode Date Announced
Elden Ring Nightreign, notable for its challenging atmosphere and dark universe, is expanding its gameplay with a significant innovation. According to FromSoftware’s latest announcement, players will now be able to tackle this dark journey in teams of two, rather than solo or in teams of three. This new feature, called “Duos” mode, will be added to the game with the 1.02 update, which will be released on July 30, 2025.
Nightreign Can Now Be Played in Teams of Two
A statement shared on FromSoftware’s official social media account stated that in this new adventure, described as “Night’s terrors,” players will progress “with the unity of two souls.” This mode, called Duo Expeditions, aims to offer a brand new team experience both in missions and in enemy encounters.
The announcement follows the game’s massive sales success. Elden Ring Nightreign sold over 2 million units in the first 24 hours alone and over 5 million units in the first two months. This data demonstrates that the expansion pack has made as much of an impact as the main game.
The new mode was developed in response to complaints about pacing and instability, particularly in the three-player mode. The two-player team structure aims to balance the experience by offering a more strategic and controlled progression. The development team states that some balance adjustments will also be made with this update.
Elden Ring Nightreign is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. With the 1.02 update, the world of Nightreign will gain a new challenge starting July 30th.
