Escape from Duckov Sold 200,000 Copies in 24 Hours

The newly released Escape from Duckov has generated significant buzz in the gaming world with its theme, which has earned it the nickname “Ducky Tarkov.” Its seemingly comical structure actually offers an incredibly challenging PvE extraction shooter experience. This strange yet immersive world, set in a world of player-controlled armed ducks, has attracted considerable attention, selling 200,000 copies in just 24 hours of its release.

Escape from Duckov Combines Humor and Suspense in the Same Game

Developed by Team Soda and published by Bilibili, the game blends the classic Escape from Tarkov formula with humor and exaggeration. Players control a fully customizable duck, collecting loot and reaching safe exits on enemy-filled maps. While visually entertaining, the gameplay is highly tactical and punishing.

The game is currently only reported to have a PvE mode, but the developers hinted that they might consider a PvP option after its success. The base-building system, in particular, offers players a depth of strategy beyond the classic shooter.

The momentum it has gained on Steam is astonishing. Immediately after its release, Escape from Duckov ranked fourth on the top seller list and seventh on the wishlist. Its concurrent player count exceeded 103,000, putting it on par with major competitors like ARC Raiders. This success was largely driven by a discount campaign at launch. When the game’s price was lowered upon launch, player interest quickly led to record sales.

Escape from Duckov brings a breath of fresh air to the genre’s gritty atmosphere with its humorous design. The extraction shooter genre, typically associated with dark and tense themes, has received such a playful face for the first time. It seems the “duck Tarkov” joke is about to become one of Steam’s most popular games.
