Fallout 5 Trailer May Be Hidden in Fallout 3

While Fallout 5 hasn’t been officially announced, the community believes Bethesda has already shared clues. Certain scenes from Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, in particular, may contain hidden messages about the new game’s setting. Players speculate that the map could be moved to the west coast this time around.

Tips for Fallout 5 May Be Hidden in Fallout 3 and 4

Bethesda games, despite their long-distance sequels, always feature interconnected stories. The “Replicated Man” side quest in Fallout 3 introduced the android theme central to Fallout 4 years ago. Now, players believe a similar situation is unfolding for Fallout 5. Posts on Reddit indicate that this time, the clues are hidden in Kellogg’s memory scenes.

According to some fans, the Golden Gate Bridge details seen in these scenes in Fallout 4 suggest that the new game will be set in or around San Francisco. Furthermore, the re-mention of the Shi community, featured in Fallout 2, supports Bethesda’s plans to return to this region. Given the series’ focus on the American West, this theory is becoming increasingly plausible among players.

The Hubologists appearing in Fallout 4’s Nuka World DLC further reinforces this theory. In Fallout 2, the Hubologists were a community living in San Francisco. Players believe Fallout 5 could center on an escalating war between the weakened NCR (New California Republic) and the BOS (Brotherhood of Steel). This conflict could rekindle the Fallout universe’s classic theme of technology versus faith.

However, some theories point in a completely different direction. One group of players believes Fallout 5 could focus on the theme of “ghouls” (humans mutated by radiation). There’s even talk that themes like the search for a “ghoul cure” or MacCready’s son’s mysterious illness could form the basis of the story. While each theory differs, there’s a common thread: Bethesda is once again being so secretive that it’s testing players’ patience.

The wait for Fallout 5 appears to be a long one. With The Elder Scrolls 6 being the studio’s priority, the new Fallout is thought to be at least a few years away. However, rumors suggest the project may be transferred to another team, not within Bethesda. If this is true, the years-long wait could be shortened a bit more—just like those hidden messages in Fallout 3, hope remains.
