Fallout: New Vegas Writer John Gonzalez’s Career

John Gonzalez is a name that has been involved in notable projects in the gaming world. Following his success in Fallout: New Vegas, he worked as a story director on Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West at the Guerrilla Games studio. He also worked as a lead designer on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and as a lead story designer on Tom Clancy’s EndWar.

His return to Obsidian Entertainment is seen as a significant turning point in Gonzalez’s career. However, it has not yet been announced which project he will be working on. This has led to increased speculation in the gaming world.

Obsidian Entertainment will be presenting gamers with two major games in the upcoming period. The studio’s highly anticipated RPG game Avowed will be released on February 18, 2025 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. The Outer Worlds 2 will also be released later this year. It is not yet known whether Gonzalez will be involved in these projects.

Although Gonzalez’s return to Obsidian has excited Fallout: New Vegas fans, no announcement has been made about a new Fallout game. The rights to the Fallout series are still held by Bethesda, so it does not seem possible for Obsidian to develop a new Fallout game at the moment. John Gonzalez’s return is considered the beginning of a new era in Obsidian’s storytelling. Fans are eagerly waiting to learn the details of Gonzalez’s new project.
