Famke Janssen is upset with Marvel
Famke Janssen, the legendary Jean Grey of the X-Men films, made some notable statements about Marvel. Janssen stated that Marvel has never called her back, noting that the character remains relevant despite the years that have passed. Famke Janssen Issues Statement on Marvel
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Famke Janssen revealed that Marvel has never offered her a role. The actress who plays Jean Grey stated that she is constantly asked about this role, which has held a significant place in her career. Janssen emphasized the character’s continued popularity and the unwavering interest from fans. While expressing her satisfaction with the interest, she also expressed surprise that no return offers have been forthcoming.
Janssen first appeared as Jean Grey in the 2000 film X-Men. She continued her role in four more sequels, making a brief return in 2014’s Days of Future Past. Sophie Turner later portrayed the younger version of the character in the film. Following Marvel’s acquisition of Fox, the X-Men were incorporated into the MCU, creating uncertainty for the former team. Janssen’s statement suggests this process is still ongoing.
Marvel Studios has been protracted in its process of integrating X-Men into the MCU. Kevin Feige previously stated that the X-Men roster would be revamped. It was also announced that original cast members Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Kelsey Grammer would appear in Avengers: Doomsday. However, it has been confirmed that Famke Janssen and Halle Berry will not be returning. Berry has also stated in the past that she has not received any offers.
