Far Cry New Dawn Gets 60 FPS Update After 6 Years

Released in 2019, Far Cry New Dawn has gained 60 FPS support for Xbox Series X and PS5 after 6 years. Ubisoft was planning to announce this update as a surprise, but had to change its plans due to a technical necessity. The update aims to increase the performance of the game, and was also released just before Far Cry New Dawn was added to Xbox Game Pass.

Far Cry New Dawn Reaches 60 FPS

Ubisoft had to temporarily disable the existing FPS Boost feature while planning to announce the update. This led to the early announcement of the update. Ubisoft’s official tweet said, “We didn’t plan to announce it this way.” The update is available for download for PS5 and Xbox Series X users.

While the temporary disabling of FPS Boost affected Xbox users, the Game Boost feature on PS5 was not affected by this situation. The update provides players with a smoother gaming experience and shows that Ubisoft continues its technical support for its old games.

Far Cry New Dawn will be added to the Xbox Game Pass library on February 4. The fact that the update was released just before this date brought the game back to the agenda. 60 FPS support improves the game’s graphical performance, especially for new-generation console users.

While the update was received positively by players, Ubisoft’s announcement method caused humorous comments on social media platforms. While some players appreciated Ubisoft’s support for its old games, some stated that such announcements should be made more professionally.

Far Cry New Dawn offers a smoother experience on new-generation consoles with this update. Players can test the game’s new performance by downloading the update. It is thought that this step by Ubisoft may lead to similar support for other old games.
