Football Manager 26 Full TikTok Generation
Football Manager, one of the most established gaming series, is undergoing a major transformation with its new installment. According to Sports Interactive director Miles Jacobson, the primary reason for this shift is the changing attention span of today’s players in the social media age. For players who now want to access information quickly, the interface in Football Manager 26 has been redesigned to resemble a modern control panel.
Football Manager 26 Adapts to the Social Media Age
“The way people focus has completely changed,” says Miles Jacobson, explaining the core idea driving the game’s design process. The new interface presents information concisely and simply, while allowing players to delve deeper into the details. “It’s the same method used by websites: first a summary, then click through to explore,” Jacobson explains, summarizing the system’s operation.
The revamped user experience isn’t limited to just visual changes. The game’s navigation system has also been completely redesigned. Now, players can access their favorite menus with a single click and find not only players but also nearly every piece of information in the game through the search engine. “Everything used to require multiple clicks,” says Jacobson. “Now, the information you need is just a click away.”
Football Manager’s audience has grown rapidly in recent years. With its launch on platforms like Netflix, Apple Arcade, and Game Pass, the player count has reached 20 million. This has significantly diversified the game’s target audience. “It’s not just football fans anymore; young people interested in football on TikTok and Twitter are also our players,” Jacobson says, describing the series’ transformation.
Football Manager 26 strives to satisfy both “detail-oriented managers” and “Roxette players” who want quick results. Miles Jacobson summarizes this balance by saying, “People have different playing styles; some want a long career, others just want to win the league title with their favorite club. We’ve made room for both.” It will soon become clear how successful this transformation will be, with the full version of the game due to be released in early November.
