Football Manager 26 Gets Official FIFA License for the First Time
Sports Interactive is taking a major step into the world of football with Football Manager 26. The studio’s new multi-year agreement with FIFA brings the official FIFA license to the series for the first time. This will bring all the teams, kits, and broadcast graphics from both the men’s and women’s World Cups to the game.
Football Manager 26 Will Offer a Authentic Tournament Experience with the FIFA License
The multi-year agreement between Sports Interactive and FIFA is considered one of the most significant partnerships in Football Manager’s history. This partnership will bring fully licensed versions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the USA.
The new license also brings significant improvements to the series’ international management mode. The development team will further enhance the management of national teams with a pre-World Cup update. This revised mode will combine the tournament atmosphere with realistic broadcast graphics, official kits, and FIFA branding, providing players with the full World Cup experience.
Studio director Miles Jacobson emphasized that this agreement represents a historic milestone for them. Jacobson expressed his excitement, saying, “Going into the World Cup year, it was important for us to revamp the international management system. It’s a great honor to do this with the support of FIFA and the official tournament elements.”
Football Manager 26 will be released on all platforms on November 4th and will be developed using the Unity Engine for the first time. With the inclusion of women’s football, it’s anticipated to be the most comprehensive version in the series. This innovation, combined with the FIFA license, could reshape the future of the Football Manager brand.
