God of War Casting Leaked

PlayStation’s legendary series, God of War, is being adapted into a series by Amazon Prime Video, and production is progressing rapidly. According to a leak shared by renowned film insider Daniel RPK, the production team has already begun casting. The shared character descriptions reveal the time period the series will focus on and how the story may differ from the games.

Leaked Information: God of War Series Has Beginned Casting

Amazon’s God of War adaptation was announced in 2022, with production slated to begin in spring 2026. It appears preparations have accelerated as this date approaches. The casting call, shared on Daniel RPK’s Patreon page and Reddit, includes the actor profiles sought for the series versions of Kratos, Atreus, and several supporting characters. This information offers important clues about both the character dynamics and the storyline of the series.

The character description “Alexander” in the leaked listing was interpreted by many fans as Odin. However, considering that Odin appears in the games during the Ragnarok era, it appears the series won’t be a one-to-one adaptation of the games. This suggests Amazon may be reinterpreting the God of War universe from a different perspective.

Another striking detail is the description of the character “Joshua.” This character is believed to be Atreus, and the description states “one-season regular.” This suggests that the series will explore different eras depending on Atreus’s age and that a new actor will be cast for the character in future seasons. Sunny Suljic, who played Atreus in the games, played the same character throughout the series, so this decision suggests there will be a time jump in the series.

There is still considerable debate among fans about the role of Kratos. While Dave Bautista, Christopher Judge, and even Gerard Butler are being considered, it remains to be seen which direction Amazon will take. According to DanielRPK, the series’ cast is expected to be officially announced by the end of the year.

The God of War series will bring the games’ mythologically-based story to a dramatic television format. Given Amazon’s high-budget production strategy, the project will be one of Prime Video’s most ambitious series, both visually and in terms of storytelling.
