GTA: Vice City Early Version Leaked Online

A version of Rockstar Games’ legendary game GTA: Vice City, which was released before its 2002 release, has been leaked online. This version contains beta models, changed scenes, and old designs, unlike the final version of the game. This version, which was reviewed by GTA Forums users, contains important details about the game’s development process.

GTA: Vice City Beta Models and Alternative Designs

The leaked early version includes many changes from the first version of the game. For example, the SWAT team uniforms have a brighter blue color, while some vehicle designs and logos also look different. In addition, the game’s intro includes some unreleased details, such as Ken Rosenberg’s office entrance scene. Another striking detail is that the “Top Fun” logo is closer to a “Top Gun” logo riff inspired by the movies. In addition, the character Auntie Poulet’s outfit color is yellow instead of purple in the PC version.

This early version also features the game’s original theme music and some mission icons. For example, the Print Works mission icons have changed, and the camera angles used in some missions are set differently. There are also differences in technical details; for example, the reload time for shotguns and M4 rifles has been set to almost zero, which was likely a development error.

This leaked version shows that the game was compiled on October 1, 2002, and was created about a month before its release for PlayStation 2. This suggests that many changes were made before the game was finalized.

This early version, which emerged 20 years later, sheds light on the history of GTA: Vice City. Fans continue to dig into the files to discover the differences. In particular, seeing the details of the game’s development process offers a great opportunity to understand how Rockstar Games shaped this legendary title.
