Horror RPG Withering Realms Announced

Independent studio Moonless Formless offers gamers the chance to step into a gothic and dark world with its new game Withering Realms. The game, which will first be released as Steam Early Access on the PC platform in the last quarter of 2025, will later be released as a full version for all consoles and PC. The game’s trailer has already created great excitement among fans.

Story and Theme of Withering Realms

The game takes place in 1926, 10 years after an “occult event” that stopped the Great War and completely changed the world. People live in a world where the dead walk, spirits roam, and some chosen people can cast spells. Our main character, 9-year-old Clover, wakes up alone in a decaying mansion a few miles from the center of this event and discovers that she is now a ghost.

Clover’s only companion is a powerful baby made of wood, metal, and human remains. Players will explore the town of Penwyll and the surrounding giant cemeteries with Clover and this strange guardian, looking for a way to bring Clover back to life.

Withering Realms aims to offer players a rich gameplay experience. In the game, you will be able to search for treasure, upgrade materials, and magical artifacts by descending into cemeteries, caves, and decaying mansions. You will be able to craft various weapons and machines for Clover’s guardian baby, such as the Pivoting Greatsword, Chain Rock, Machinegun, and Flamethrower, and add them to the baby’s lost right arm.

The game’s world can be expanded by defeating giant environmental guardians. In addition, when you return at night, you will encounter more frightening creatures and new secrets. Players will be able to uncover the dark secrets of the town of Penwyll by gaining various allies, such as Althea, a brave detective.

Withering Realms stands out as a unique production that combines the horror and action RPG genres. While the Early Access version is planned to be released in the last quarter of 2025, a clear date for the full release has not yet been announced. The game, which has already attracted attention with its promotional trailer and details, seems to be a candidate to become a favorite of players with its dark storytelling and innovative mechanics.
