Jurassic World Evolution 3 Gives Up on Artificial Intelligence
When Jurassic World Evolution 3 was announced at Summer Game Fest 2025, expectations were high, but the reactions to the use of artificial intelligence quickly changed the agenda. When it was revealed that generative artificial intelligence was used in the production of scientist portraits in the game, harsh criticism came from the player community, forcing the developer to reverse its decision.
Jurassic World Evolution 3 Cancels Use of Artificial Intelligence
The statements on the game’s Steam page confirmed that the character portraits were created with artificial intelligence. Although it seemed like a small detail at first, this choice was interpreted as “disrespect for artists” and “laziness” by the player community. The posts emphasized that abandoning simple and traditional methods such as hand drawing was a wrong step.
In discussion threads opened on Steam, users harshly criticized the inclusion of AI in projects. Some comments stated that this decision both devalued creative labor and set a negative example for future projects. As the discussions grew, Frontier Developments broke its silence 17 days later.
In the official statement made on June 24, it was stated that “We thank you for your feedback on this matter. The use of generative AI in the scientist portraits in Jurassic World Evolution 3 has been removed” and that the use of AI has been completely terminated. Players welcomed this decision.
