Legal Action Against Black Ops 6 Leaks
Activision has taken action following various leaks about Call of Duty Black Ops 6. The company has started sending official cease and desist letters to the leakers and the sites hosting the leaks.
Activision Takes Legal Action Against Black Ops 6 Leaks
Given the popularity of the Call of Duty series, leaks of new games have become commonplace. But the leak of Black Ops 6 has prompted Activision to take more drastic measures. ‘PSLAN’, one of the largest Black Ops 6 servers, has received a cease and desist letter from Activision. According to PSLAN, Activision has demanded 250,000 euros in damages, claiming that it sold users access to Black Ops 6 for 6 euros a month.
Following these developments, PSLAN removed support for Black Ops 6. Similarly, some Twitter users known for their Call of Duty leaks have also received cease and desist letters. In particular, @HeyImAlaix, long known for his Call of Duty leaks, reportedly received such a cease and desist letter.
While Activision’s actions may not stop the leaks completely, they at least aim to slow down the flow of Black Ops 6 leaks. The company is also sending DMCA takedown requests for all Black Ops 6 content.
