Luto: New Horror Game is Receiving Great Reviews
Newly released PT inspired game Luto is currently receiving a lot of good reviews from players and it’s available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Luto: New Horror Game
For those unfamiliar with the game, PT is a first-person horror “teaser” from Hideo Kojima, the mind behind Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding. The terrifying game has players walking through a spooky hallway that seems to loop endlessly, all the while being bombarded with disturbing sounds and ghostly apparitions. Its uniquely unnerving style has served as inspiration for many horror games since, and with PT removed from the PlayStation Store years ago, it’s great to see it live on in other projects.
Luto is not a clone of PT, but it’s clearly inspired from it. Going into too much detail about Luto or what to expect from the game will spoil the experience, but the gist is that players are trying to leave their house, but are unable to do so. They are subjected to bizarre happenings and strange scenes as they try to find a way out, with critics offering a great deal of praise for Luto’s psychological horror, gripping narrative, and inventive puzzles. Luto has so far earned an 84 overall critic rating, making it one of the higher-rated games of the year and one of the most-acclaimed new horror games to release in 2025 so far.
What makes Luto even easier to recommend is its short length. Luto can be completed in under 5 hours, so it’s not a serious time commitment and is really the perfect game for horror fans to play through in a single weekend. Luto also retails for a reasonable price, with the game available for a mere $19.99, with limited-time options for discounts. Steam users have until August 4 to snag Luto for $17.99, while PS Plus subscribers can get it for the same price on their platform of choice if they purchase it by July 28. No such discount seems to exist for the Xbox version of the game, unfortunately.
