Microsoft CEO Responds to Xbox Port Rumors
Recently, rumors have been circulating that Xbox games are being stopped from being ported to other platforms such as PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. However, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella refuted these rumors in an annual letter published on his LinkedIn account. Nadella made important statements about Microsoft’s gaming strategy and future goals.
Xbox Ports Continue
As Nadella stated in his letter, Microsoft is committed to expanding its game content to new platforms. The CEO emphasized that porting games like Grounded, Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves to other platforms is part of this expansion strategy. He also noted that Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard has strengthened the gaming ecosystem, bringing hundreds of millions of players into the ecosystem.
These statements prove that rumors of a halt to porting Xbox games to other platforms are false. Instead of slowing down game ports, Microsoft aims to bring gaming experiences to a wider audience.
Satya Nadella stated that Microsoft now controls “more than 20 franchises with over $1 billion in lifetime revenue”.
