New Action RPG Edge of Memories Officially Unveiled
Nacon and Midgar Studio, developer of Edge of Eternity, have officially introduced their new action RPG project, Edge of Memories. Featuring visuals inspired by Japanese animations and an impressive soundtrack by renowned composers, the game will take players on an epic journey and will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC in the last quarter of 2025.
Story and Features of Edge of Memories
Edge of Memories is about the fight against an epidemic called Corrosion, which has brought the world to the brink of destruction. Players will take control of Eline, a wandering “Spirit Whisperer”, to fight against this epidemic and discover a dark power hidden within her. After gaining the ability to control the epidemic, Eline will need to work with her teacher Ysoris and Kanta, a shaman prince from a lost tribe, to save the continent of Avaris.
The game will feature a fast-paced real-time combat system. Players will be able to create impressive combos by switching between both fast attacks and devastating techniques. They will also be able to transform into Berserker form by going into rage mode and deal crushing blows to enemies.
Developed with Unreal Engine 5, Edge of Memories offers a visually impressive open world. Players will explore the stunning landscapes of the continent of Avaris and see the traces of the damage Corrosion has done to these lands. In addition, players will be able to travel across vast lands with a loyal cat-like mount named “Nekaroo”, allowing them to access hard-to-reach areas.
The game also draws attention with its music. The voice of Emi Evans, known for NieR: Automata, and the final theme by Yasunori Mitsuda, known for games such as Chrono Trigger and Xenoblade Chronicles, will give players an emotional experience. Edge of Memories looks set to be one of the most anticipated RPG games of 2025 with its rich story, dynamic combat system and visual quality.
