New Free Game from Epic Games Store
Epic Games Store’s latest free mystery game promotion treated users to 16 free games in total. The final Epic Games Store free mystery game was Hell Let Loose, which users have until Thursday, January 9 at 10:00am CST to claim.
Hell Let Loose is free to claim on the Epic Games Store right now. A World War 2 FPS, Hell Let Loose earned mixed reviews when it first launched but has a dedicated following of players. It will be free on the Epic Games Store until Thursday, January 9 when it’s replaced by Turmoil, a much different kind of game. Whereas Hell Let Loose is a brutal first person shooter game, Turmoil is a simulation game about the gold rush.
First released in 2016, Turmoil earned mixed reviews, but like Hell Let Loose, audience reception for the game has been much more positive. Turmoil game modes include a single player campaign with procedurally generated levels and multiplayer matches against AI controlled enemies, friends, and random online opponents.
Turmoil will be free on the Epic Games Store from January 9 to January 16. January 16 will see a new free game replacing Turmoil, but fans won’t find out what exactly it is until later in the week. While the Epic Games Store free games are kept secret during the mystery game promotion, the typical giveaways are announced in advance. This way, Epic Games Store users know what to expect from one week to the next. As for the number of free games every week, 2025 is sticking with 1 game per week so far, but there were plenty of weeks last year when two free games were given away instead, so fans will have to wait and see what happens.
