New Game From The Sims Creator Will Wright: Proxi

Will Wright, creator of The Sims and co-founder of Maxis, has shared new information about his AI-powered life simulation Proxi. First announced in 2018, Proxi will allow players to create personalized worlds using their memories.

Players’ Memories Are the Foundation of Proxi

In Proxi, players will record text-based memories called “mems” and import them into the game. The game will interpret these memories and transform them into animated scenes using assets created by the developers. Players will then be able to edit these scenes to adjust the details and train Proxi’s mind by placing their memories on a timeline and mind map.

With sentiment analysis, private mind worlds will also change according to the emotions of the memories placed by players. Shared worlds can also be built with other players. Proxies of friends and family can be added to worlds, games can be played together, and even transferred to other worlds such as Minecraft and Roblox.

Will Wright stated that he wanted to provide a personal experience using players’ real memories, and summarized Proxi’s philosophy by saying, “As a game designer, you can never underestimate the narcissism of players. The more I can make a game about you, the more you will love it.” Proxi’s release date and platforms have not yet been announced, but the game is expected to meet players soon.
