New Horror Game from the Creator of Silent Hill: Slitterhead
In an interview with Famitsu, Keichiro Toyama, the creative mastermind behind Silent Hill and CEO of Bokeh Game Studio, revealed that the upcoming action-adventure horror game Slitterhead is heavily inspired by the classic masterpiece Siren. Slitterhead will borrow Siren’s unique elements and transform them into an action-oriented game. Psychic abilities make a comeback.
Siren-Inspired Features of Slitterhead
Slitterhead will allow you to have bodies instead of senses like in Siren, but will still allow players to look at other characters’ perspectives from time to time. Those who played and enjoyed the original Siren in the early 2000s should definitely be excited for Slitterhead. It will take those features that made Siren special and turn it into a modern action experience.
The action-adventure horror game is set in the beautiful but busy streets of neon-lit Kowlong, where brain-eating Slitterheads masquerade as humans. Our protagonist is a ghostly person named Hyoki, who will possess humans to deal with these parasite-like beings.
Toyama realizes that it will be a game that won’t appeal to everyone due to its unique features, but he hopes it can be marketed and played outside of those who “get it”. Slitterhead will be released on November 8, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
