New Resident Evil Game in Development
During the Capcom Next program, one of the company’s executives, Koshi Nakanishi, revealed that a new Resident Evil game is in development and that it is an important project. Nakanishi emphasized that this game is not a remake and is an original concept directed by the director of Resident Evil 7.
Capcom Finally Announces New Resident Evil Game
Speaking at the end of Capcom Next’s Summer 2024 program, Nakanishi had this to say about the project he’s working on “We’re making a new Resident Evil. It was really hard to figure out what to do after Resident Evil 7, but I did, and honestly, it feels important. I can’t share details yet, but I hope you’re excited for the day I do.”
Nakanishi is a veteran of the Resident Evil series, having worked at Capcom since 2009. Resident Evil 7 is considered one of the best games in the series and is characterized by its first-person perspective and intense horror themes. Nakanishi’s comments about the new game suggest that it will be just as innovative and impressive.
The last original Resident Evil game was Resident Evil Village, released in 2021. Village offered players a larger and more explorable map. Nakanishi’s comments about the next game being more important suggest that this game will also be able to offer a larger environment.
