New Superman TV Spot Released

DC Studios has officially released a highly anticipated TV spot for the new Superman movie by James Gunn. The new footage offers a clearer look at the action scenes of Superman, played by David Corenswet, while the dark side of Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor character is more clearly seen. While the film is responsible for starting a new era of the DC Universe, this short trailer has created both hope and discussion.

Superman Trailer Points to a Hopeful Period

The released TV spot focuses on the new version of Superman, which carries classic costume details, while the character’s loyal dog Krypto is also shown for the first time. Director James Gunn had stated that he aimed to both remain true to the character’s roots and bring modern touches with this project. Names such as Kevin Smith, who have been producing content about the character for a long time, stated that they found this approach quite “sincere” and “in line with the spirit of the comics.”

In the trailer, it is possible to see more traces of Lex Luthor’s hatred for Superman. In addition, Superman’s flying scenes and heroic moments are visually striking. In Smith’s words, “People just need something to believe in right now,” summarizes the theme of hope that the film wants to give. It is thought that the film has come at the right time in terms of society.

The new Superman film will bring David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor to the audience. The film will also feature characters such as Isabel Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), and Edi Gathegi (Mr. Terrific). Sara Sampaio plays Lex’s assistant Eve Teschmacher, while Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell play Clark’s parents. It has also been confirmed that Milly Alcock will appear on stage as Supergirl.

The film will be in theaters on July 11, 2025 and will question, in the words of James Gunn, “the place of a good man in a world that is not always good.” This spot is considered not only a promotion, but also a herald of a new beginning for the DC universe.
