OFF Game Officially Announced
Announced at the Summer Game Fest 2025 event, OFF is preparing to meet players with its long-awaited remaster. First released in 2008, this unusual Japanese-inspired RPG tells the story of a baseball player chasing ghosts in a strange and cubic world. The project, developed by the game’s creator Mortis Ghost to entertain his friends, has become a cult classic over time and inspired legendary productions such as Undertale.
OFF Returns with a Remaster
OFF, which has been re-developed in collaboration with Fangamer, will meet players on Nintendo Switch and Steam on August 15, 2025. The prologue section can currently be played on Steam. This new version of OFF includes many innovations in terms of both visuals and gameplay. Mortis Ghost has designed six new boss characters for the remaster, while the fighting system has been completely overhauled.
During the Day of the Devs livestream, Undertale creator Toby Fox also shared a special message for OFF. Stating that the game inspired him greatly, Fox said that the new version appeals to both new players and old fans. These words from Fox once again revealed how big an impact OFF has had on the RPG world.
The remaster also includes a completely renewed music album. While preserving the atmosphere of the original game, the sound design adapted to modern platforms aims to offer players both a nostalgic and refreshed experience. This new version, prepared with the contributions of Fangamer, excites both old fans and those who will discover OFF for the first time.
