Physical Copy of Metroid Prime 4 Drops Big Clues

Nintendo’s long-awaited new game, Metroid Prime 4, continues to receive more attention through leaks than official announcements. Now, a promotional copy purportedly from Japan circulating online appears to have revealed intriguing, previously undisclosed details about the game’s story. These clues raise important questions about the series’ future.

Metroid Prime 4 Physical Copy Details

Japanese text in images shared on Reddit and Facebook suggests that Samus has been “transported through space and time” and “must make a path to return to her home world with her new powers.” These new powers are said to be psychic abilities granted to Samus to grant the wishes of her planet’s inhabitants. Nintendo’s official statements, however, only mention the unknown planet Viewros, and none of these details are included.

If these promotional materials are genuine, it could be argued that Nintendo is deliberately pursuing a strategy to keep the story secret. Previously, statements had only suggested that Samus gained these powers during her exploration. However, details in the physical copy suggest a much deeper storyline, which could take the series in an unexpected direction.

This possibility isn’t new. Series producer Kensuke Tanabe expressed interest in the idea of time travel in an interview years ago. Back then, the Nintendo Switch hadn’t even been announced, and the game was known to be codenamed “NX.” The prehistoric-looking planet and dinosaur-like creatures in the now-surfaced promotional images appear to support this theory.

There are still many unknowns about Metroid Prime 4. However, these leaks have further fueled player expectations ahead of the game’s December 2025 release. The discrepancy between Nintendo’s official statements and the details in the promotional copy suggests that the game’s story may hold even bigger surprises than expected.
