The Predator universe is returning to the big screen after a long hiatus. Director Dan Trachtenberg, who took the series to a fresh new level with Prey, now takes audiences to a deadly planet with Predator: Badlands. The first clip released by the studio shows the Yautja character “Dek” battling savage, plant-like creatures, and it’s visually stunning.

Predator: Badlands Offers a Next-Generation Hunting Adventure

The released clip maintains the classic Predator atmosphere while taking a completely new approach. This time, the story doesn’t feature human characters; instead, the film focuses on a Yautja’s struggle for survival. Producer Ben Rosenblatt emphasizes that despite the film being rated PG-13, “the violence will be high.” He notes that the absence of human blood allows for impressive action scenes without violating censorship limits.

Set on a deadly planet in the future, Predator: Badlands tells the story of a young Yautja outcast. Played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, this character finds an unlikely ally in his search for his most formidable enemy: Thia, played by Elle Fanning. The duo embark on a perilous journey filled with the galaxy’s deadliest creatures.

Director Dan Trachtenberg, known for his work on Prey and 10 Cloverfield Lane, is back in the film’s directorial chair. The production team includes John Davis, Marc Toberoff, and Ben Rosenblatt. Predator: Badlands will be released exclusively in theaters, in IMAX and 4DX formats, on November 7, 2025.

This new film aims to elevate the Predator franchise to new heights and offer fans a refreshing yet refreshing experience. Expectations are already rising based on trailers and clips.
