PS5 Pro Price Will Be Higher Than Expected
The expected announcement for the PS5 Pro price will be made soon. However, it seems to be more costly than thought. Sony’s long-rumored PS5 Pro model will be unveiled in the next few weeks. Details about the device’s power, release time and price will be revealed at Sony’s PlayStation State of Play event. It has also been confirmed that Sony will attend the Tokyo Game Show in late September, where the PS5 Pro will be available for users to experience. If it is announced in September, we could see the console throughout 2024 and it will probably make its official debut in 2025.
PS5 Pro Price Should Not Be Optimistic
According to reliable industry insider Billbil-Kun, the PS5 Pro will be slightly larger than the PS5 Slim and will feature three striking black stripes in the center of its main surface. It is not yet clear whether the PS5 Pro will have a disk drive. If a diskless model is released, this could reduce production costs, but could be a negative for those who prefer physical games. Also, if it’s something like the PS5 Slim, the need to add a separate disk drive could increase costs.
Previous reports suggest that the PS5 Pro will be able to run Unreal Engine 5 games much better than the regular PS5. This means exciting news for PlayStation fans. Furthermore, according to Sony documents, the PS5 Pro will reportedly perform 45% faster than the current model and utilize a faster system memory that will triple the GPU’s ray tracing capabilities.
The PS5 Pro CPU will be identical to the current model, but will include “a mod that will provide about 10% increased performance”. According to The Verge, Sony will give developers a choice between “3.5GHz in standard mode or 3.85GHz in high CPU frequency mode.”
Additionally, developers will have access to increased system memory with PS5 Pro, making it easier to achieve higher resolutions and frame rates. Games that utilize the superior architecture will be released with the PS5 Pro Enhanced label, so users can easily recognize them.
