Return to Moria Durin’s Folk DLC Announced
A new adventure is being added to the depths of Middle-earth. The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria returns with Durin’s Folk, an expansion released on November 18th. Announced by North Beach Games and Free Range Games, the new DLC will offer players over 20 hours of additional story content, repeatable dungeon quests, and new gameplay mechanics.
Return to Moria: Moria Reborn with the Durin’s Folk DLC
Building on the core storyline of Return to Moria, Durin’s Folk will introduce players to mysterious new regions beyond the mountains, challenging enemies, and a lore-rich additional campaign. The expansion focuses on the Dwarves’ story in the Fourth Age and deepens the legend of the “Lord of Moria.”
In the new DLC, you’ll be able to recruit rescued NPCs into your settlement and assign them various roles, such as miners, blacksmiths, and guards. With the help of these characters, you’ll build massive structures called Monuments, restoring Moria’s former glory.
Gameplay highlights include new procedurally generated dungeon quests. These quests can be played both solo and with friends. For the first time, you’ll be able to venture beyond the mountain to explore new areas like Durin’s Tower.
Furthermore, an updated economy system will introduce new materials, recipes, and items. These items will not only enhance the crafting system but also reveal hidden elements of the story.
After two years of regular updates, this new chapter in The Lord of the Rings universe makes Return to Moria one of the richest games of its kind. Offering players a massive adventure with both solo and 8-player co-op support, this expansion prepares to write a new legend in the depths of Middle-earth.
