Nvidia RTX 5000 Price and Specs

The RTX 5000 lineup is expected to utilize Nvidia’s Blackwell micro-architecture. As of right now, Nvidia is reportedly planning to unveil the higher-end RTX 5080 and 5090 cards at its CES 2025 keynote next January. While many gamers are anticipating a hefty performance uplift in the RTX 5000 cards, though, there’s also some trepidation over how much they’ll cost. Nvidia graphics cards have historically charged a premium over competitors, and it seems the RTX 5000 lineup is set to repeat that pattern.

Following the recent reports of a potential 24 GB variant of the RTX 5080, credible industry insider Moore’s Law is Dead has now chimed in with some alleged pricing information for both the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. In a newly released YouTube video, the insider claimed that the RTX 5080 may retail for as much as $1,499, a substantial hike over the RTX 4080’s $1,199 price tag at launch. The RTX 5090, meanwhile, is tipped to cost between $1,999 and $2,499, an even more exorbitant increase over the RTX 4090’s $1,599 asking price.

While these prices are undoubtedly steep, a recent tweet from PC hardware leaker kopite7kimi detailing the RTX 5090’s specs could provide some context. According to them, the RTX 5090 will have a 600W power draw thanks to its 21,760 CUDA cores and 32GB of GDDR7 memory on a 512-bit bus. GDDR7 RAM is significantly faster than the GDDR6X memory featured in the RTX 4090. Couple this with Blackwell’s architectural improvements and a higher CUDA core count, and the RTX 5090’s performance boost over the 4090 may be unprecedented.

These are not confirmed information. With CES 2025 only a few months away, Nvidia fans won’t have to wait too long to finally learn about the RTX 5000 series. Interestingly, AMD’s RDNA 4 graphics card lineup will reportedly debut at CES 2025 as well, so the event could turn out to be a battleground for both PC hardware titans and their next-generation GPUs.
