Sony Opened New AAA PlayStation Studio
Recent released PlayStation job listing confirms that Sony has opened a new AAA game studio in Los Angeles, California.

PlayStation’s first party studios are among the most renowned in the games industry, which naturally results in a lot of hype around their projects. Fans are constantly on the lookout for news about future PlayStation games from Santa Monica Studio, Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, and more. In recent years, PlayStation has also expanded its roster of first party teams by acquiring longstanding development partners like Housemarque, Bluepoint Games, Firesprite, etc. Now, there’s a secret new PlayStation studio fans should watch out for.
Based in Los Angeles, California, this currently unnamed PlayStation first party studio is developing a “ground breaking” original AAA IP. Word comes by way of a recent PlayStation job listing for a Project Senior Producer, which explicitly confirms a “newly established AAA studio” in Los Angeles.
There are a few potential theories around whom this internal studio could be for, and one possible candidate is the spin off PlayStation team developing Bungie’s Gummybears incubation project. This was announced during the Bungie layoffs in July 2024, where 155 of the studio’s staff members were confirmed to be folded into Sony Interactive Entertainment over the next few quarters.
It could take several years until Sony announces anything pertinent to this new internal studio, but for now, fans are glad to know that there’s one more PlayStation first party game in the works.
