Star Wars: Eclipse Continues Development

Announced in 2021, Star Wars: Eclipse remained quiet for a long time. Rumors about the game’s development were “slowly progressing,” but new revelations suggest otherwise. Quantic Dream founder David Cage shared important information about both Star Wars: Eclipse and its new multiplayer projects in his blog post titled “Writing A New Chapter.”

Star Wars: Eclipse Will Be Quantic Dream’s Largest Project

Cage stated that Quantic Dream has doubled in size since 2018 and opened a new studio in Montreal. “After years of working on a single project, we’ve entered a new era where multiple teams are now focused on different games,” he said. This announcement suggests the studio will increase its production capacity and focus on both narrative-driven games and competitive multiplayer projects.

It was also emphasized that the new multiplayer Spellcasters Chronicles will be a significant departure from the studio’s traditional style. Cage said, “This new game may surprise our fans because it’s so different from anything we’ve done before. But taking risks, pushing ourselves, and trying new paths has always been part of our DNA.” This demonstrates the studio’s willingness to experiment with new genres while remaining committed to storytelling.

Nevertheless, Star Wars: Eclipse remains Quantic Dream’s primary focus. Cage confirmed the project’s viability by saying, “Of course, development on Star Wars: Eclipse is ongoing, and we look forward to sharing more with you soon.” The studio plans to release new material about the game in the near future.

Quantit Dream, which achieved success with games like Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human in 2018, is now preparing for its most ambitious project in the Star Wars universe. While the game’s script team has undergone changes, production continues at full speed. All signs point to Star Wars: Eclipse being Quantic Dream’s biggest and most ambitious production yet.
