The First Trailer for the Young Washington Movie Has Arrived

Angel Studios has released the first trailer for “Young Washington” ahead of the 250th anniversary celebrations of the United States. Produced in partnership with the independent Wonder Project, the film focuses on the youth of George Washington, the first president of the United States, and his journey to leadership. The trailer offers viewers the first glimpse of an epic historical narrative.

“Young Washington” Will Mark the 250th Anniversary Celebration

The film explores Washington’s life long before the American Revolution. The story centers on the challenges he faced during the French and Indian War, his strategic decisions, and the shaping of his character. William Franklyn-Mille plays the young Washington, while the strong cast includes Mary-Louise Parker, Kelsey Grammer, Andy Serkis, and Ben Kingsley.

With the trailer, Angel Studios urged audiences to “Take this film to the number one spot in America’s 250th year.” The company launched ticket pre-orders months in advance. This early sales strategy demonstrates the studio’s aim to repeat the success it previously achieved with “Sound of Freedom,” which topped the US box office in 2023.

The director is Jon Erwin, creator of the series House of David. The screenplay was written by Erwin, Tom Provost, and Diederik Hoogstraten. The producers say the film will captivate audiences with both its historical accuracy and cinematic grandeur. The battle scenes and dramatic dialogue in the trailer foreshadow a grand cinematic experience.

Young Washington will be released on July 3, 2026, the day before Independence Day. While the film will be competing with major contenders like Minions 3, which opens the same week, Angel Studios appears ready for the challenge based on its past successes. The little-known story of George Washington’s youth is likely to add historical significance to the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
