The New James Bond Is Not Well-Known
Preparations for the new James Bond film are progressing rapidly. Directed by Dune director Denis Villeneuve and written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, the project is generating considerable curiosity among fans. The most pressing question is who will take on the role of 007 in this new era. The latest rumor has completely shifted expectations.
Scott Rose-Marsh Rumored for James Bond Role
According to The Hollywood Reporter, 37-year-old British actor Scott Rose-Marsh tested for the role. The test, which took place at the end of June, reportedly involved the actor reading scenes from the 1995 film GoldenEye and sections of the script for Bond 26. The only instruction given before the test was, “Don’t imitate previous Bonds.”
Rose-Marsh starred in the film Krays: Code of Silence (2021) and the series Chloe (2021) and The Outlaws (2021-22). Her lack of recognition distinguishes her from previous favorites. However, this contradicts previous reports that Amazon was looking for a younger actress. The fact that the series has never seen a red-haired Bond makes the potential choice even more striking.
While the controversy surrounding Daniel Craig’s casting as Bond with his blonde hair is still fresh in our minds, similar discussions could resurface. Rose-Marsh’s participation in the test suggests that the filmmakers are considering unconventional options. This suggests a new interpretation of the character could be undertaken.
No official casting or release date has yet been announced for Bond 26. However, the sheer size of the candidate list suggests the casting may not be imminent. Fans are eager to find out who the series’ new 007 will be and how these choices will shape the future of James Bond.
