The Social Reckoning Cast Begins to Take Shape
The Social Reckoning, the sequel to David Fincher’s legendary film The Social Network, is slowly taking shape with its strong cast. Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, the film will bring the dark side of social media back to the big screen. The addition of BAFTA-winning Wunmi Mosaku, most recently known for his role in Sinners, has added excitement to the project.
The Social Reckoning Will Explore the Dark Side of Social Media
While Wunmi Mosaku’s character has not yet been announced, he will be a strong addition to the cast, which already includes Jeremy Allen White, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Strong, and Bill Burr. The film will be released in theaters on October 9, 2026, and will explore the dramatic behind-the-scenes events of social media.
Aaron Sorkin will once again wield the power of his writing, as he did in 2010’s The Social Network. The new film will recount the story of former Facebook engineer Frances Haugen (Madison) as she exposes confidential information at the company. Haugen’s perilous journey alongside Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (White) will shed light on one of the biggest scandals in the digital world.
Todd Black, Peter Rice, Sorkin, and Stuart Besser are the producers. More than just a biopic, the film will explore the societal impact of social media and how personal interests collide with moral boundaries.
Wunmi Mosaku recently garnered critical acclaim for her performance in Sinners. Having previously starred in series such as Loki, Black Mirror, and Lovecraft Country, Mosaku is considered one of Hollywood’s rising stars. With The Social Reckoning, she embarks on a new chapter in her acting career and injects a powerful energy into Sorkin’s visionary narrative.
