The Wait for Max Payne Remake Might Be Longer
The remake projects prepared for the first two games of the Max Payne series are being developed in partnership with Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Games. However, the silence regarding these productions that fans are eagerly waiting for may continue for a while. Because according to the statements of Remedy CEO Tero Virtala, the promotion and all marketing process of the game will be completely under the control of Rockstar.
The Fate of Max Payne Remake is in Rockstar’s Hands
Remedy CEO Tero Virtala responded to a question about Max Payne Remake projects at a recent investor meeting. Virtala stated that Rockstar is the publisher of the remakes and therefore the entire process regarding promotion, communication and announcements will be carried out by Rockstar. “All communication and marketing are in their hands and it would not be right for us to comment on this matter,” he said.
This statement may be disappointing for fans who are used to Remedy’s generally transparent communication strategy. The company has often shared details about its development process on projects like Alan Wake 2 , but Rockstar has been much more secretive about its promotional strategies in the past.
The fact that Rockstar is currently focusing on Grand Theft Auto 6 suggests that the timeline for the Max Payne Remake project could be pushed back a bit. Although the development process is being handled by Remedy, not even the smallest piece of information about the game’s release date will be shared without Rockstar’s approval.
So players eagerly awaiting the return of Max Payne will need to be a little more patient. The project is confirmed to be in development, but when it will be officially revealed will depend entirely on Rockstar’s schedule. This means that the chances of the game being released anytime soon are very low.
