Transformers: Reactivate Gameplay Leaked

Six minutes of gameplay footage from the Transformers: Reactivate game, which was announced as cancelled by developer Splash Damage this week, has been leaked online. The leaked footage shows the game’s open-world elements and gameplay mechanics, which include iconic Transformers characters. Splash Damage had previously explained that the team’s decision to focus on other projects was behind the project’s cancellation.

Why Was Transformers: Reactivate Canceled?

Splash Damage recently announced that it has stopped development on the Transformers: Reactivate game, which was introduced at The Game Awards in 2022. The game, designed as a four-player online action game, featured beloved characters from the Transformers universe. However, the studio decided to end development before completing this project. The company announced that it would restructure its support team and direct its employees to other projects following the cancellation decision.

The gameplay footage leaked to the internet belongs to a version of the game that is in development. The gunfights performed from a third-person perspective and the ability to navigate an open-world city by switching to vehicle mode are noteworthy. Although the footage reflects the unfinished nature of the game, it gives fans an idea of what a potential gaming experience could be like. The visual details, especially those developed using Unreal Engine 5, have sparked curiosity among players.

Splash Damage stated that it will focus on new projects with the cancellation of the Transformers: Reactivate project. The company will direct its resources to this area to develop the AAA open-world survival game known by the code name “Project Astrod”. It also aims to support its employees and strengthen its teams in the process.

Although this cancellation decision was disappointing for Transformers: Reactivate fans, the leaked footage once again revealed the potential of the game. However, it remains unclear whether the studio will completely abandon this project.
