Valheim Coming to PlayStation
Valheim, one of the most popular survival games of recent years, is now preparing to come to the PlayStation platform. Currently available for PC, Mac, Linux, and Xbox Series X/S, the game will be added to the PlayStation library next year. While a release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s expected to be released around the same time as version 1.0.
Valheim PlayStation Version Coming
Developed by Iron Gate, Valheim has enjoyed a steadily growing community since its early access launch in 2021. The game achieved significant success, reaching half a million concurrent players on Steam at launch. Now, the adventure will reach a wider audience by connecting with PlayStation gamers.
The port is being handled by Piktiv, which previously worked on the game’s Xbox version. The studio is also guaranteeing cross-play support for the PlayStation version. This allows Valheim players to survive together in the same world, regardless of their platform.
The game’s PlayStation release date has not yet been announced. However, the announcement stated that the possibility of PlayStation 4 is also on the table. Definitive details are expected to be shared in the coming months.
Iron Gate has outsourced the port work to Piktiv and has focused its team on Deep North, the game’s seventh and final biome update. Following this update, Valheim’s full version, version 1.0, will be released. Therefore, it seems highly likely that the PlayStation release will coincide with this timeframe.
Valheim’s arrival on PlayStation will both expand its existing fan base and offer new players the opportunity to explore this unique Viking-themed survival experience. 2026 is shaping up to be a very busy year for the game.
