What Are We Waiting For If GTA 6 Is Completed?

As the gaming world counts down the clock for GTA 6, an interesting claim has resurfaced. While GTA 6 is rumored to be largely complete, its release date remains unconfirmed. While the timeline is said to be subject to change due to Rockstar’s obsession with quality, those eagerly awaiting the game are anxiously awaiting further announcements in uncertainty.

GTA 6 Delay Rumors and Insider Information

GTA 6 was officially targeted for a May 2026 release, but this date appears to have been quietly pushed back. Insider Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly reported uncertainty in discussions with developers at Rockstar’s Bangalore, Edinburgh, and San Diego studios. According to the teams, GTA 6 is largely complete, but the testing process is extensive.

The game is allegedly at the “content complete” stage, meaning all content is ready and the development team is currently focused on debugging, balancing, and performance. Reilly states that there’s no clear consensus on the date within the team and that there’s been “internal discussion.” While Rockstar is still targeting May, there’s no definitive guarantee.

The reason for this cautious approach is quite clear: Cyberpunk 2077. That launch disaster, one of the greatest lessons learned in gaming, is still fresh in our minds. Rockstar doesn’t want to lose GTA 6’s “lucky first impression.” Considering the massive open world, dual-main character structure, and the return of Vice City, it seems natural that the testing process will take time.

Insider information is also supported by Tom Henderson, who also stated that he doesn’t think GTA 6 will be ready by May. Meanwhile, while players await the third trailer, Take-Two’s November 6th financial meeting is being pointed to as a possible announcement point. Despite all these rumors, fans have only one hope: Let GTA 6 make history when it comes out, or wait a little longer if necessary.
