Who Will Be the Villain in Resident Evil Requiem?
Capcom’s shrouded in mystery, Resident Evil Requiem, is forcing die-hard fans of the series to theorize. Following Ethan Winters’ story, all eyes are on the darker side of the new game. While little official information is available yet, the hooded figure appearing in promotional images may hold clues about who we’ll be facing. However, a striking theory from a well-known insider suggests this figure may simply be a hoax.
Who Could the Villain Be in Resident Evil Requiem?
Dusk Golem, known for sharing reliable information about the series, has made an intriguing prediction about Requiem’s villain. According to this claim, which isn’t a leak but merely a theory, Resident Evil 3’s iconic character, Nikolai Zinoviev, may appear in the new game. It’s possible this character, whose fate remains unknown after the events of Raccoon City, may have survived.
The hooded figure we encountered in Requiem, however, has a different role in this theory. Dusk Golem suggests this character is a type of B.O.W. (Bio-Organic Weapon) and could be the enemy hunting us throughout the game. Facial details in the trailers also support the possibility that the character may have survived a bombing.
Nikolai’s return could, in keeping with Requiem’s theme, bring up reckoning with the past. A new nightmare rising from the ashes of Raccoon City will create a nostalgic yet menacing atmosphere for longtime players. If Nikolai truly returns, his intelligence and ruthlessness could allow him to reprise his role as one of the series’ unforgettable villains.
Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While Capcom hasn’t revealed the new villain’s identity, fan theories have already fueled excitement. Are you ready for this dark confrontation as he returns to Raccoon City after so many years?
