A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Postponed

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Has Been Moved to 2026
In the latest presentation made by Warner Bros. Discovery, Casey Bloys, who is responsible for HBO and Max content, officially announced that they have postponed the release date of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The series, adapted from George R.R. Martin’s novella The Hedge Knight, will air its first season consisting of six episodes in the first quarter of 2026, between January and March.
The series takes place approximately 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones. At the center of the story are Ser Duncan the Tall, aka Dunk, and young Aegon V Targaryen, aka Egg. The friendship, knightly journeys, and secret past of these two are told during a time when the Targaryen dynasty was still influential.
George R.R. Martin announced that he directly supported the production of the series and watched all six episodes. Martin said the following on his blog: “I am very happy with the episodes I have watched. Dunk and Egg have always been my favorite characters. The actors who play them are great. The rest of the cast is equally great.”
However, Martin also gave a small warning to viewers who want to get their fill of action: “If you are just looking for action, this production may not fully satisfy you.” These words show that the series will focus on character relationships and emotional depth.
