According to TheGhostOfHope, Sledgehammer Games’ upcoming Call of Duty project could be the second game in the Advanced Warfare series or an entirely new production. The studio has previously played key roles in the development of games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023).

As it is known, Activision assigns multiple studios to different projects at the same time to ensure that the Call of Duty series meets players with a new game every year. In this way, while maintaining the pace of the series, it also offers diversity to the players.

According to data shared by Activision, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which debuted in October, shattered many of the series’ records. The game’s simultaneous availability on Game Pass, consoles and PC platforms helped it reach the top in terms of total players, hours played and matches played in its first 30-day launch period.

Black Ops 6 also brought some interesting new features, such as DLCs that allow players to play as a shark. Also, Activision recently added a Ranked Play mode to the game. This gives the best players the opportunity to showcase their skills using the same settings, maps, modes, and weapon restrictions as those in Call of Duty’s official esports league.

As we head into 2027, there’s sure to be more games on the way to excite Call of Duty fans. We’ll see how this mysterious project, shaped by the hands of Sledgehammer Games, will breathe new life into the series.
