AMD Announces RX 9070 XT and RDNA 4 Release Date
AMD has announced that it will launch the long-awaited Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card and its next-generation RDNA 4 architecture in March 2025. Announced at the CES 2025 event and attracting great attention, the RX 9070 XT draws attention with its improved performance, AI-powered FSR 4 Super Resolution, improved ray tracing, and media encoding features. However, this release date has caused disappointment among some gamers and technology enthusiasts as it comes after NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti models.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RDNA 4 Highlights
AMD’s new RDNA 4 architecture draws attention with its new generation AI hardware that particularly enhances gaming performance. This architecture not only increases visual quality, but also offers significant improvements in ray tracing performance. It is estimated that the Radeon RX 9070 XT will be at a similar performance level to the RTX 4080 and therefore offer a high-end gaming experience.
According to AMD, the RDNA 4 series cards will be released with a wide availability worldwide. However, the pricing and performance of the RX 9070 XT cards are being carefully determined to compete with NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 series. AMD also stated that the RX 9070 XT is targeting lower power consumption, but official test results have not yet been shared.
The RDNA 4 launch in March 2025 will be a big step for AMD. “Everything looks great from a hardware and software perspective,” said David McAfee, head of the company’s Ryzen and Radeon groups, expressing his confidence in this launch. AMD’s new series aims to offer gamers not only performance, but also advanced features for media production and content creation.
