AMD RX 9070 Reaches Record Sales Figures

AMD announced at the “AI PC Innovation Summit” event held in Beijing recently that the Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards produced with the new generation RDNA 4 architecture have achieved great success. Speaking at the event, the company’s CEO Lisa Su stated that the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models reached more than 200,000 sales in the first two weeks after their release. This shows how high the demand for AMD’s new graphics cards is.

AMD RX 9070 Series Sees Great Interest

The Radeon RX 9070 series was released on March 6, 2025 and quickly sold out in many regions around the world. The RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models attracted attention by offering high performance and energy efficiency thanks to the RDNA 4 architecture. According to AMD’s statement, these sales figures are only valid for the first batch of production. However, the availability of these graphics cards is currently limited and prices have increased accordingly.

Additionally, the RX 9070 XT is reportedly priced at $200 more than its MSRP. AMD says it encourages its manufacturing partners to stick to MSRP, but it doesn’t have full control over pricing.

AMD’s announcement also brings its rivalry with NVIDIA back into the spotlight. NVIDIA claims that its RTX 50-series graphics cards shipped twice as many as its RTX 40-series in the first five weeks of its launch. However, NVIDIA has not shared any specific figures on these figures, making it difficult to make comparisons.

The RX 9070 series is expected to see more stable stock in the coming weeks. However, both AMD and NVIDIA’s manufacturing partners continue to regularly increase the prices of their graphics cards. For example, Acer reportedly offered the RX 9070 XT OC for $829, while ASUS reportedly increased prices by more than 50% on some models. AMD has already seen great success with the RX 9070 series, but price hikes and limited availability continue to be major obstacles for users to access these next-gen cards.
