AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D Features Revealed
MD’s new generation flagship processor, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, has emerged in CPU-Z and attracted attention with its technical specifications. The processor promises a major performance increase for both gamers and professionals by offering a 5.6+ GHz boost speed and 128 MB total L3 cache. Equipped with 3D V-Cache technology, this processor offers higher gaming and productivity performance than previous generations. It also comes with 16 cores and 32 threads, and its energy consumption is limited to 170W TDP.
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D Highlights
The new AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D does not experience a decrease in clock speeds, unlike previous generation X3D processors. According to CPU-Z screenshots, it comes with a 5.65 GHz boost speed. This speed confirms that the processor was tested with the engineering sample code name “Granite Ridge”. The processor’s 96MB + 32MB L3 cache configuration is a result of 3D V-Cache technology, which is achieved by placing an additional 64MB L3 cache chip under the core complex (CCD).
This placement increases cooling performance by allowing the cores to come into direct contact with the heat spreader. This allows the processor to maintain high clock speeds and offer greater overclocking potential. The processor, which has two CCDs, each contains 8 cores and 32 MB L3 cache.
AMD plans to introduce the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor at the CES 2025 event. At the same event, the Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics cards developed with the RDNA 4 architecture and FSR 4 technology will also be introduced. This processor aims to make a big leap especially in gaming performance and productivity applications.
The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D is already seen as an exciting option for users looking for high performance and is expected to make a big splash with its official launch at CES 2025.
