The eagerly awaited Analogue 3D console of the retro gaming world has been postponed once again. The release date of the console, which was initially planned to be released in 2024 and then postponed to the first quarter of 2025, has now been moved to July 2025. This device, which stands out with its ability to play Nintendo 64 games at 4K resolution, has created great excitement among retro game enthusiasts. However, the consecutive delays have tested the patience of users.

Features of Analogue 3D

Analogue 3D aims to bring the classic Nintendo 64 experience together with modern technologies. It offers remarkable features such as 4K output support, Bluetooth compatible controller options and 100 percent compatibility with Nintendo 64 cartridges from all regions. Developed with FPGA technology, this device provides a hardware-level gaming experience instead of emulation. It was also announced that it would be released with a price tag of $ 249.99.

Following the postponement decision, Analogue offered a full refund guarantee to pre-orderers and announced that it would send an email a week before the console was shipped, where buyers could update their address information. The company stated that this delay was necessary to provide a better product and expressed that they appreciated users’ patience.

This postponement process experienced by Analogue also created an opportunity for competitors. ModRetro, a name known in the retro console market, announced that it was working on a new device based on the Nintendo 64. The company’s CEO Palmer Luckey shared a teaser for this project, saying, “It’s never too late to review your Analogue 3D pre-order.” This move shows that competition is heating up in the retro gaming world.

The delay experienced by Analogue 3D came at a time when the popularity of retro consoles was increasing. Having successfully released modern versions of classic consoles such as the NES, SNES and Sega Genesis, Analogue aimed for great success with this device developed for the Nintendo 64. However, the ongoing postponements have created disappointment among users.

Expected to be released in July 2025, Analogue 3D is eagerly awaited by retro game lovers. However, how rival companies like ModRetro perform in this process seems to determine the future of the market.
